Natural Nutrition

At Foundations, our Registered Natural Nutritionist utilizes a holistic approach to nutrition  coaching that considers your entire lifestyle, rather than simply the calories you consume or  the symptoms of a particular disease and/or diagnosis. Our Natural Nutritional Clinical  Practitioner, Janice Wiggins, will pick up where diets and one-size-fits-all methods have failed, leaving you feeling like you will never succeed. Her goal is to provide you with the tools you need to look and feel your best. 

Janice will work with you to help you identify how your diet and lifestyle might be impacting  your overall health. Together, you can tackle:

  • Weight loss 
  • Inflammation and pain management 
  • Food sensitivities 
  • Brain health 

  • Menopause symptoms 
  • Pre-Conception planning 
  • Poor sleep 
  • Improving wellness and longevity 

Certified by the Canadian Association of Natural Nutritional Practitioners and the Functional  Medicine Coaching Academy, our Nutrition Coach will create a personalized plan for you  that is based on the latest research on nutrition and lifestyle medicine. 

How to get started:

At your first appointment, our strength coach will review your health history as well as  discuss and determine your unique goals for care. From here, you will be taken through  a functional movement assessment, which allows your coach to develop a training  program that is tailored to your health and performance goals. 

Before your initial Nutrition & Lifestyle Assessment, you will be asked to complete intake  forms. This will include specialized health and nutrition questionnaires based on your goals.  You will also be asked to record what you eat for 5 days prior to your initial session. This  will help your Nutrition Coach to make targeted nutritional recommendations for your unique  goals, lifestyle, and health.  

What to expect from your intake appointment: 

During your first appointment, Janice will review your intake forms and food logs and  together, you will assess your nutritional and lifestyle priorities. She will answer any  questions you may have, determine which coaching plans are best suited to help you reach  your goals, as well as discuss potential solutions to barriers to progress that you have  experienced in the past or may experience in the future.  

Next steps: 

At your Nutrition & Lifestyle personalized plan appointment, Janice will provide you with a  targeted food plan based on your nutritional objectives. You will also receive a grocery list, a  weekly food planner with recipes and a comprehensive nutrition guide for your reference. 

Those who chose to have additional coaching support will benefit from regular check-ins and  additional supporting documentation. Our Nutrition Coach will also monitor your progress  and refine your nutrition and lifestyle objectives to help you reach your goals.
